18. septembrī noslēdzās Urban Institute un Vides un reģionālās attīstības ministrijas kopīgi veidotās Latvijas kopienu un pašvaldību apmācību programmas aktīvā daļa.

Civic education and political awareness workshop, eleventh in the seminar succession, took place in Līgatne and Āraiši from June 3 til June 5. Latvia’s Presidency of the Council of the EU presented an opportunity to include an international community event within Urban Institute’s education structure.

Semināru, kas liek kopienu dalībniekiem pašiem iejusties dažādu sabiedrības grupu lomās, kā arī analizēt šo grupu fiziskās, garīgās un kultūras atšķirības un to iespaidu uz minēto grupu uzvedību sabiedrībā veido un vada eksperti Guna Garokalna-Bihela un Filips Vuds (Phillip Wood).

Eksperti Jānis Baltačs un Charles Bušmanis programmas dalībniekus iepazīstina ar projektu vadīšanas praktiskajiem padomiem, trikiem un mazām viltībām, kas novērš ierastas kļūdas viedokļu formēšanā, partneru piesaistē un kopīgu mērķu nospraušanā.

Latvijas Lauku Forums turpina savu oktobrī iesākto semināru ciklu par vietējo ekonomiku un ciemu attīstības plānu izstrādi ar semināra 2. daļu.

This seminar is devoted to evaluation of the field work done by community leaders during the internship period. Our trainees have done active work on theirs view of community's local strategy and this is when they present it for the first time to our team.

According to the further process and in order to achieve a tailor made community development strategy, based on own and local resources and interests the participants are asked to evaluate and assess their communities during the trainings “Spring Break” in January and February 2015.

The Urban Institute will run its second Community Development Training workshop this weekend from August 28. till 30. 2014 Ambeli community in Latgale’s Region. The workshop aims to introduce to the basic concepts of community work and community development strategies.
